Bill Harper began doing business as Harper Diesel in 1975 as a machine and engine rebuilding shop. Harper Diesel became Harper Diesel & Machine Service, Inc. in 1981 and began primarily rebuilding, repairing and selling heavy equipment. In 2003, Bill's son, Ben, joined the company.

Harper Diesel also represents Schramm, Inc. for eastern Kentucky and carries various other lines of accessories. During the past twenty years their specialty has been with the repair and sale of drilling equipment, specializing in blasthole drills for construction and mining and well drilling equipment for water well and shallow gas and oil work.   Harper Diesel owns all equipment on their yard and any machine can be inspected and operated on the premises unless otherwise stated. Harper Diesel is located in eastern Kentucky at Beattyville. We are seventy miles east of Lexington and 50 miles north of London.
